This weekend I finally got to read John Green’s new book, Paper Towns. I wondered if all the Nerdfighters were just being huge fans of John Green and loving this book as a result, or if it was truly a good book. Well, I guess both are true. Paper Towns is a book about a boy, Quentin, and his next-door neighbour, Margo. As kids, they used to hang out and be great pals, but in high school Q is a nerdy nobody and Margo is the Queen of Everything. Until one night when Margo taps on Quentin’s window and tells him he must take her out to do 11 important things. The next day, Margo disappears, and Quentin finds clues leading him to believe the worst. Written in John Green’s signature style, this book is a fast read full of twists and turns and laugh-out-loud humor, as well as plenty of soul-searching and maturing. By the end of the book, the characters feel like your friends, and you are sad to say goodbye to them. If you are looking for a good read, do try this one. And don’t miss Green’s other books, Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines. Great reading, all around!
